Martin Luther King, in memoriam: 'we shall overcome'

Now Barack Obama can fulfill the dream of Martin Luther King.

But Obame doesn't do micracles. He faces a society scattered, divided, leaderless, because of the Bush administration.

Good Bye

I know, 'miracles' don' t even exist - do they?

And Obama will have an extremely difficult job 'mending' all the s_ _ _ he's inherited from the previous administration, no doubt about that!

The post you've commented, however, conveys a different message, and is intended to support a different 'battle' - the one Portuguese teachers are currently fighting against the M. of Education.

There was an astounding 80% of us (120.000) demonstrating in the streets of Lisbon last Saturday. Teachers will be back on the streets this afternoon.

What we do not want is economically-based policies for public services like education, or health ..

What we reject is the same model of public school your Bush administration (and others before him) have implemented in the US ...

and ...
Luther King is/ has always been.. an inspiration!
"We have the moral obligation to disobey unjust laws", he once said..

Miracles... They don't exist, but you believe in them only when you lose your hope. There is, there must be!, hope, that we, together, students and teachers, will send a deep message to the villain of this "fable", this government's educational policies. And we are, in this moment, fighting in the greatest students/teachers union EVER, and that is the worst nightmare of the worst minister. They have tried to separate us, like an appendix from the body (which class is which?), but they screwed up. They messed with forces they didn't knew that existed. And so, thats a really big piece of c**p they did. Now they have to clean it. :))
